Day 37: Injuries are Boring.

I’m sad!  After doing lunges on Saturday, I noticed my ankle feeling a little tender, even though I tried to be really conscious of my form.  I’ve been running on it, with the pain improving as I exercise, only to return in the evenings.  The first 10 minutes of jogging are a little rough, then I’ve been fine.  Sitting in class today, I was rubbing my ankle bone, trying to massage out the pain.  Bad idea, I think, because by 5pm, it was hot and swollen.  I definitely have to call tomorrow a rest day :[.  I am actually bummed out by having to bench myself, but better to sleep in for a couple days then to not be able to run the race in August!

Today was pretty nonstop, which provided just the sort of distraction I think I needed.  Kim met me at the Farmer's Market, which is always an enjoyable venture.  I walked away with a big bag of sprouts, a pound each of white peaches (YUM) and giant raisins, two gigantic citrus which I am still unable to identify (they're not grapefruit, but are similar), and another large sack of honey dates.  I ran home to refrigerate the sprouts (lunch for manana!), cracked open a cantaloupe (finally, one ripened!), then cruised downtown to meet my friend Roxy for a jaunt up to Santa Barbara.  Ate most of the raisins on the drive (HAHA).

Now I've got Ratatat playing (Classics), my foot elevated (I'm not going to take anything for it), and am painting my nails a color scheme inspired by Malibu Barbie.   I think I'll put on some Do Make Say Think or Explosions in the Sky and do a little reading (I'm almost halfway through a re-read of Conscious Eating, heavy stuff!), then maybe watch something funny on Netflix. Ooooor look up cat videos on YouTube.  I know.  My life is awesome.

…or perhaps you consider yourself more of a dog person?:
